Yesterday, the second unit of my country's independent third-generation nuclear power "Hualong No. 1" demonstration project - CNNC Fuqing Nuclear Power Unit 6 officially qualified for commercial operation. So far, the CNNC "Hualong No. 1" demonstration project has been fully completed and put into operation. The two units have an annual power generation capacity of nearly 20 billion kWh.
CNNC said that this is a major achievement in my country's nuclear power development in the new era, marking that my country's nuclear power technology level and comprehensive strength have ranked first in the world, and it has strongly supported my country's leap from a nuclear power country to a nuclear power power.
As the "national business card" of my country's nuclear power going to the world, "Hualong No. 1" is one of the third-generation nuclear power models with the highest acceptance in the current nuclear power market. The results, meeting the highest international safety standards and fully capable of mass construction, have become the preferred plan for China's third-generation nuclear power to contribute to the world.
Fuqing Nuclear Power Units 5 and 6 are global demonstration projects of "Hualong No. 1". The owner is Fuqing Nuclear Power, a subsidiary of China Nuclear Power. Among them, Unit 5 has created the best performance in the construction of the first reactor of the third generation of nuclear power in the world, and will be put into commercial operation in January 2021. After the "Hualong No. 1" demonstration project is fully completed, the annual power generation capacity of the two units will be nearly 20 billion kWh, which is equivalent to reducing standard coal consumption by 6.24 million tons and carbon dioxide emissions by 16.32 million tons each year, equivalent to planting 140 million trees. It is of great significance to optimize my country's energy structure, promote green and low-carbon development, and help achieve the goal of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.
It is understood that after decades of development, my country's nuclear power development has grown from scratch, from small to large, and from weak to strong, and has formed independent design, Batch construction, general project contracting and independent operation capabilities.
On the basis of the mature technology verified by engineering, "Hualong No. 1" creatively adopts the safety design concept of "177 core arrangement" and "combination of active and passive". The localization rate of the first reactor equipment reaches 88%. It also adopts design concepts such as single-stack arrangement and double-layer containment, and has advanced features such as complete serious accident prevention and mitigation measures, enhanced external event protection capabilities, and improved emergency response capabilities. It ensures the safety, economy and advancement of the power plant.
"Hualong No. 1" has complete independent intellectual property rights. China National Nuclear Corporation has cooperated with 17 domestic universities and scientific research institutions, 58 state-owned enterprises and more than 140 private enterprises to jointly break through reactor pressure vessels, steam generators, reactor internals, etc. The localization of 411 sets of equipment including core equipment has obtained more than 700 patents and more than 120 software copyrights, covering design technology, special design software, fuel technology, operation and maintenance technology and other fields, meeting the requirements of nuclear power "going out" . At the same time, as a "national business card" for China's high-end manufacturing industry to go global, "Hualong No. 1" has driven more than 5,300 enterprises in the upstream and downstream industry chains, bringing huge economic benefits and opportunities for transformation and upgrading to my country's high-end equipment manufacturing industry.
